MARCH: Music without borders

This month, East meets West with heavenly music pouring out of two documentaries making their Greek premiere at Exile Room. “Junun” by Paul Thomas Anderson (“Magnolia”, “There Will Be Blood”) follows Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood to Rajasthan, while in the inspiring “Song of Lahore” a handful of musicians from Pakistan head to New York to play some very unusual covers of the jazz standards. The first documentary in the career of obsessive big-time director Paul Thomas Anderson follows his long-time score composer, Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood, to Rajasthan, India, where Greenwood –along with a hand-picked selection of stellar Indian musicians– is helping out Israeli composer Shye Ben Tzur lay down the tracks for his next album.
