- Magaluf Ghost Town
Strange things happen on the Balearic coast: the streets reek of pee and blood, police cars and ambulances roam the streets without anyone paying attention. Screams are heard in the middle of the night, either of ecstasy or terror. Every summer, one million tourists invade the streets of Magaluf like ghosts, transforming the city into a summer theme park where anything goes. The small, sleepy town with a population of 4.500 inhabitants turns into a Balearic Twin Peaks, where locals are forced to experience daily absurdities mixed in with genuine pleasure – but never their own. “Magaluf Ghost Town” is a humorous, yet mysterious ensemble portrait of a community that struggles to survive the holiday season, as well as a reflection on what it means to be a tourist in Europe.
