Blood Brother

Rocky Braat was just another American tourist looking for enlightenment and “authenticity” in India. But as he was wandering around the countryside, he discovered something in a small village that would change his life forever: a hospice for children with HIV, a melancholy Lilliput that made him abandon his former life and permanently move to India, to dedicate himself to caring for these abandoned kids. Shocked with his decision, his best friend, filmmaker Steve Hooper, followed him around for five years, documenting this rather unexpected change of direction. Born to a neglectful, abusive family, Rocky would find the affection he’d always craved for in the eyes of these children, a bond so strong that would carry him through the endless hardships along the way, eventually opening his eyes to a brave new world. Leave your cynicism at home and welcome – with open arms – the most optimistic and warm-hearted documentary of the year! Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize at the last Sundance Film Festival.
